HONDURAS - *Passport and onward/return ticket required. Visa not required for a stay of up to 90 days; holders of U.S. passports are issued a 30-day permit which can be renewed every 30 days for up to a maximum 90 day stay. Departure tax is US $25. HONG KONG, SPECIAL ADMINISTRATIVE REGION - *Passport and onward/return transportation by sea/air required. Visa not required for tourist/business stay up to 90 days. Confirmed hotel and flight reservations recommended during peak travel months. Departure tax 100 Hong Kong dollars (approximately US $13) paid at airport. Visa required for work or study. INDIA - *Passport and visa required. Tourist visas require 1 application form, 2 photos, onward/return ticket, $150 fee, and proof of sufficient funds. Visa must be obtained before arrival. Include prepaid envelope for return of passport by certified mail. AIDS test required for all students and anyone over 18 staying 1 year or more; U.S. test from well known lab accepted. Letter of intent from employer or sponsor required for business/ social and temporary stay visa. IRAN, ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF - *Passport and visa required. The United States does not maintain diplomatic or consular relations with Iran. Travel by U.S. citizens is not recommended. Attention: U.S. citizens need a Treasury Dept. license in order to engage in any transactions related to travel to and within Iran. IRAQ - Passport and visa required. Proof of an AIDS test required. The United States suspended diplomatic and consular operations in Iraq in 1990. Since February 1991, U.S. passports are not valid for travel in, to, or through Iraq without authorization from the Department of State. Application for exemptions to this restriction should be submitted in writing to Passport Services, Attn: CA/PPT/PAS, U.S. Department of State, 1111 19th St., N.W., Washington, D.C. 20524. Attention: U.S. citizens need a Treasury Dept. license in order to engage in any transactions related to travel to and within Iraq.
